( #002 ) FAKE MARRIED AU

the 'fake married' meme
be it for a job, in order to get your inheritance or to fool your nosy neighbours, you are pretending to be married. now the question is, do you want it to be real or can you hardly wait for it to be over? |
idk came up with this but tell me if it doesn't work :V
It’s one of the first things Clark can think as he enters the house that’s supposedly his new house, with the woman who’s supposed to be his newlywed by his side. His father always thought that he should hide his secret from everyone, no exceptions. That the moment someone figured out what he really was the world would change, and he had to be ready to bear the weight of that on his shoulders.
He wasn’t ready.
But after an accident that involved a robbery, a certain blonde girl who was taking no shit and kicked their asses to the floor before they even knew what they were doing, and a bullet that would have gone to the back of her head had Clark not interfered with super speed right were Steph could see… well, things had just taken A Turn. They had talked, shared parts of their backstory (even though Clark couldn’t tell her much, since he still had no answer to the basic ‘where did I come from’ questions), and found out they actually complimented each other pretty well.
She needed someone who wouldn’t try to stop her when she tried to make a change, be more than her father’s daughter. He needed someone who would accept him for who he was, someone who could make him look normal for a chance. He needed someone who’d let him stop running, for a while.
And if the thought of being married to someone as amazing as Stephanie Brown (he hadn’t even thought about changing either of their names) made his chest tighten in a way it hadn’t since he had first seen Lana Lang… well, that was no one’s business. He could live with this.]
Home sweet home?
perf as always
Running into Clark had changed that, even if she's still not exactly sure where they stand with each other, considering both of them seem so used to working alone. She wants to trust him, but it's been a long time since she's trusted anyone, and it isn't something to fall back into so easily.
She doesn't even want to think about - anything else. About how Clark makes her feel. They need to focus on what's in front of them, which is a crime ring operating out of a little country town. Two new people turning up at once might've raised too many eyebrows, but a country boy bringing his new wife out to the fresh air and wide open spaces has been done a million times before.
And they barely even have to act; Clark is comfortable in the country in a way that Steph really isn't, and it's obvious from the tension in her shoulders even once the door is closed.]
I feel like I should've bought more floral dresses.
[Or maybe more flannel.]
no subject
We told everyone you’re from Metropolis, they are expecting a city girl. It’s not like you have to act the country woman part. [He’d thought lying about the city was a bit too much, but Steph was even more paranoid then he was.]
But people in this kind of cities tend to be… curious? To put it nicely. So we’ll have to be careful. Sleep in the same room in case sneak visitors check, keep the curtains closed… the less they talk about us, the better.
i'm only over a week late
[She can cook well enough, but she's got an image in her head of the Perfect Country Housewife and it involves floral dresses and aprons worn while baking cobbler. That's not her, and while she could pretend it is, this is easier.
Which is why she can smirk at him.]
You know, if you wanted to share a bed you could've just asked.
[She's the worst.]
