[One scar, two new red marks that she may or may not acknowledge.]
[A couple scars and a few red marks, maybe even a couple black ones. He falls in love easy, okay?]

[One old scar, one mark that's scarred and faded back to red a few times, and one newer mark that was red for a long time and has only recently faded to black.]
[A couple scars and black mark, which tend to play peek-a-boo due to his fondness for long sleeved dress shirts and three-piece suits.]
[His marks depend on the canon point or if au. I prefer WallArt or WalLinda for ships/marks. I'd enjoy playing out gen conversations about marks with any characters.]
[Her projected form has color variants but one patch of pixels just seems different.]
[two black marks. they're not quite dark enough to be truly black at this point, perhaps because their bearer is pretty young and has much more than romance on his mind at the moment, but they're definitely there.]

[OU - 17 years old]
[Hijikata has a profusion of red and black marks, all of them small and light, many old already. Some seem on the verge of fading away altogether. None seem of much consequence, though he bears all of them without shame.]
[OU - 29 years old]
[Even more of those small marks are there, but they're all faded, nearly to nothingness. One mark stands out among them, large and thoroughly black.]
[OU - 30-31 years old]
[Same as the last one, but that one big mark is slowly, slowly scarring from the inside out.]
[OU - 32 years old]
[The Western clothes he's taken up wearing do a great job of hiding that one, huge scar surrounded by all the tiny faded spots.]
[AU: XI]
[He has a number of small, mostly black spots, in various stages of fading, though a few of them are still sharp and clear.]
[Then there's the one that's huge and somewhat confusing -- bright red, with faint hints of scarring that seem to be fading away, and black starting to come in at the edges. It's complicated, ok?]

[OU, modern]
[It's pretty damn unusual for a nation to have as few marks as Poland does.]
[Maybe it's that he's always been shy, unsure of how to deal with new people or nations and slow to warm up to them despite the more reckless and outgoing elements of his personality. Maybe it's that most of his nation neighbors are either girls or jerks to him, and he doesn't swing either of those ways. Maybe it's the Catholicism at play -- he's not always the best Catholic, but he does take it about as seriously as he can take anything, and the commitment of having been married for so long isn't something it's easy for him to cast aside.]
[Or maybe it's just that he's a bit strange. He always has been, and doesn't much mind any given aspect of it. Either way, there are only two marks -- one small scar, and a larger one, bright red with a few hints of black. It shifts back and forth, over the years, but it's never really gone away, and is unlikely ever to. The redness of it doesn't seem to bother him, and he's quick to laugh it off when anyone mentions it.]
[AU: Brave New World]
[Just one, large and black. He's not even a little ashamed, and avoids wearing bracelets on that arm just because.]
[AU: XI]
[Just one, large and black. He's pretty sure it's defective. Everyone knows it's not requited, and he feels really awkward about it, so he just covers it up most of the time and tries to laugh it off if someone tries to find out who it is.]

[It's okay, Destroying Mononoke. They just don't understand our love.]

[To those familiar with YJ only up to season 1, SPOILERS FOR S2: one black mark, scarred over in a zig-zag shape. For up to season 1 & au, we'll play it by ear (I do what I want).]
Two options:
1. [For the longest part of his life, there has been one constant, large black mark on his wrist. It was briefly red as a teenager and he tried to hide it for a while after it showed up and turned black, but for the most part, it was not hidden...
..and then he was reembodied and the mark was still with him, though it soon turned into a scar.]
2. [There have been a few small red dots on his wrist over the years, and one or two faint scars, but nothing that would have justified any in-depth attention.]

[Gilbert's wrist has such a complex array of marks drawn across it that it looks like some cross between a tattoo and a horrible bruise. Most are small and slim, faded for so long that they only stand out against the contrast of his pale skin. Here and there, this one or that looks suspiciously close to a scar.
And then there are the two marks dominating the whole design: One is great and black, curled like a snake along the veins showing from beneath his skin. It stands out as deep as fresh ink bled onto parchment. The other, pressed just below the curve of his thumb, is more moderate in size but of striking color -- a deep burgundy, shaded like a darker port.
That one can't quite decide whether it wants to be black or not, it seems, though one might mistake it at a glance.]

[OU, Post-Chrono Stone]
[It's very suddenly during the middle of the team's adventures that Shindou starts keeping to long sleeves as much as possible. Whether it's sweltering or frigid, he has his running jacket pulled on and zipped up whenever he can even conceivably get away with it. When they return home and start back at school, he sticks to his uniform and dress clothes incessantly.
Of course, that doesn't work out on the field, and the thin, red wristband -- it's really more like a ribbon -- that he opts for then isn't exactly subtle. Shindou doesn't invite questions about it, all the same. Even if it stands out, it still serves its purpose.
He just really, really doesn't want to talk about the one pale scar now standing out along his wrist.]
[AU, Xavier Institute]
[Sometimes Shindou wonders if it's that strange that his arms remain mark-less. He's not even entirely sure which hand he should be looking at, for when something does finally show up? Not that he dwells on the topic often, but when it's time to suit up for training and there's color showing from the arms of just about everyone he gets a glimpse of...
It feels odd! He can't decide if he's the weird one or whether it's the whole rest of the school or some combination of the two...!]
(OOC: Either prompt is potentially flexible in the event of shippy stuff, I guess? Which is cool but definitely not necessary!)

(what happens when you fall out of love? does the mark stay? for tony it has, but it's faint now, just a thin blush that's easy to hide. it's usually hidden by a watch, but his relationship had never been hidden, so he doesn't bother hiding it either.
if a new one pops up?
he'll hide that better.
(play by ear, def open for new marks)

[He has all sorts of scars. One of them turned red a few years ago, leading to a flurry of discussion between Hydra's scientists and technicians. He hadn't cared then but now with HYDRA in pieces he has time (and the ability) to think about it.

[Two red marks, no black marks, no scars.]
[The small, fashionably dressed young man has an awful lot of marks -- many people do, right? They cover both wrists in a band, and have started to creep towards his hands and forearms.]
[No, the odd thing about his is that, while most of them are small, every one is black.]
[Except for one, old and half-faded, large and unmistakably red. He'll talk about any of them -- even that one -- without shame, though there's always a certain something guarded about it when the red one is brought up.]

[unblemished but for one black mark. by now, though, it's faded to a very light gray. it almost blends in with how pale his skin is.]
